According to Amazon's docs, version 0 and 1 of the signature methods are deprecated. These methods will no longer be accepted after 9/2009: http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=1928.

I was just about to come in and add this myself as I knew about it for the past few weeks. I'll work on getting this in 1.8.2.
