Description

Once unit testing for each file of the component reaches 80% LOC coverage and there exists satisfactory DocBook documentation for the APIs, the Zend_Crypt component needs to be promoted to core (i.e., moved to trunk with unit tests and documentation integrated).

In addition to the above, there may be other issues to be addressed prior to promotion to core (e.g., perceived stability of the API). Please feel free to create additional issues as sub-tasks and/or dependents of this issue.

Dmitry, what is the status of this issue? Will this be promoted to core in time for the 1.5 PR ( code freeze on 1/22)?

This doesn't appear to have been fixed in 1.5.0. Please update if this is not correct.

Zend_Crypt has been sitting around for a while, so here's the deal. I've cleared out some of the remaining cruft and removed several areas of support (I feel happy enough in allowing ext/hash to remain as a necessary dependency which simplifies a few things...). As such I'll get documentation committed in the coming two weeks and request the component be promoted at the next opportunity. The API is stable, and all relevant unit tests are passing.

Paddy, it's unfortunate this hasn't gotten completed. We get a lot of feature requests for it, even if it only has 1 vote now. Any chance you could make a push to get the docs done for 1.8?
In any case, I'm moving it to the ZF Incubator IT for now.
