I thought there was another proposal on ZF for a phone number class,

Anyways, this is likely of interest:

Not 'complete' but it's a start

Thomas, are you still preparing this proposal for community review, or should we archive it for now?

 3. May 25, 2008

Please do not archive this - such a component is very difficult because you cannot find all information for each country. I will talk to Thomas in the near future so that we can update this proposal.

I didn't get a notification of eighter of the above two comments.
Seems that Jira was broken. <ac:emoticon ac:name="sad" />

This proposal is still in developoment but with a very low priority.

Wil... you know how much I have to do... and there are several other proposals out there where I am working on. I am still collecting data and I already knew the link sent above as we are using CLDR our own.

This proposal will be driven forward after 2.0 as I just wanted to reserve the class name and show the idea behind this. There is also a jira issue with additional data already collected in past.

If it won't be worked on in the next 3 months or so, let's archive it. You can always resurrect it when you're ready to pick it up again.
I'm trying to keep dormant proposals off the proposal page because it discourages new contributors from submitting proposals. I've gotten feedback that when they see a lot of old proposals, they often assume that the proposal process is extremely long and labor-intensive. Please contact me direct by mail if you feel there is a reason to keep it in the new section without work being done on it.

Hi Thomas,

I'm working in a telecommunication software company where we created such a component for internal use. We're following Zend Framework Coding Standards so the code should be easy to read and review.
If you're still interested I would like share the documentation and the code of this component with you.

Regards,
