Jayson Minard created and was the original Editor-in-Chief for the Zend Developer Zone. He was previously also the lead for the Zend Framework open source project.
Jayson has a strong background in e-commerce, highly scalable web applications, software development processes and commercial software development. He has developed software ranging from desktop applications through high volume transactional systems.
Jayson currently operates his own consulting company, MindHeap Technology, providing technology strategy, architecture, product management and development consulting at high levels in client organizations; from architect through CIO/CTO. He works with clients such as Endeca, Boeing, Zend, AbeBooks, CMAEON, Oprius, and LibraryThing.
Jayson works across PHP, Java and .NET platforms balancing his time and experiences to stay strong in each. The same holds true for Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and other database engines and enterprise technology.
Previously, as CIO/CTO of AbeBooks, he rebuilt the IT organization and brought the infrastructure to a level playing field with the likes of Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Half.com. In the past, he was the Chief Architect for the JBuilder product-line at Borland, co-founded OpenAvenue to aid distributed development teams, created the first WYSIWYG e-mail system, and has been in software development for over 20 years working for companies such as Novell, BEA, StarBase, and Borland.
