When you make a query, Date/Timestamp.. should be convert to Zend_Date. Same principle should be apply when you store datas.

Maybe some other data type should be convert

Zend_Date can detect given timestamps and also DB date values itself. There is no need to force this overhead. A user only in need of a timestamp would not want to get a Zend_Date object.
